Miyama Futon & Breakfast is a thatched roofs house located in Miyama (Kyoto). The house is fully reformed and complete with all the modern conveniences. Built in the Edo period, the house is 150 years old and registered as a site of cultural heritage. It is a beautiful example of traditional thatched architecture.
Located in Miyama and away from the packed trains and convenience stores lies a quiet rural Japan. The pace of life is slow and deeply intertwined with the changing seasons.
A full breakfast is provided, this uses quality local ingredients such as Miyama milk, local bread, free range eggs, free range sausages, butter, Jam and on request they can cook vegetarian or vegan food.
They also offer Japanese cooking experience please let us know in advance if you are interested.
From Kyoto it takes about 50 minutes by train and pick up service is available from Sonobe station, please let us know if you want to reserve.
