Gokanosho
Gokanosho is the collective name of the Kureko, Shiibaru, Hagi, Nitao and Momki areas in Izumi-cho. There are traditional thatched private houses and a gorge surrounded by deep mountains. Legend has it that Heike clan warriors fled to this area, where they lived secluded from the outside world. During fall, tourists can enjoy the beautiful autumnal colors of the leaves as they turn in a variety of settings.
