Fantastic Experience stay in a Buddhist Temple

2 persons from Italy, January 2020

I very like the experience to stay in a buddish temple. The traditional accomodation and the entire building were fantastic.

I would have appreciate more communication with staff, but I understand the language gap.

Authentic experience stay at Shojoshin-in in Mt.Koya

Solo Traveler from UK, April 2019

Felt very authentic, great bathsroom, food was really lovely.

Honestly there’s not much. The reality is this is a real functioning temple... so don’t expect hotel comforts and soak up the experience! I would say a bit more info on the morning ceremony (how to get there and the meaning behind it) would be helpful.

Wonderful Experience at Shojoshin-in in Mt.Koya

3 Persons from France, May 2018

The most wonderful thing about Shojoshin-in is its proximity to Okunoin Cemetery, but also the room with garden view, the baths and the vegetarian meals.

Wonderful Experience Temple stay at Shojoshin-in

2 Persons from Australia, March 2018

Our stay at Shojoshin-in was a wonderful experience. It was a simple but extremely quiet and peaceful place. We felt their warm welcome and were treated so well. The morning prayer was a special experience. We would come again in future.

Bath times were a bit restricted but it was only a minor thing to adjust to.
